Financial Times Market Place

FT WEEKEND FESTIVAL, WASHINGTON D.C.

Financial Times partnered with 196 to design and execute a distinctive brand experience to showcase their merchandise at the FT Weekend Festival in Washington, D.C. This bespoke pop-up activation seamlessly integrated an exclusive collection of FT collaboration merchandise with the publication’s signature aesthetic, offering attendees an immersive and dynamic engagement with the brand.

196 meticulously designed a refined pink-and-white sales activation, inspired by the essence of a Financial Times-branded newsstand. Strategically positioned on the mall, the installation functioned as both a storefront showcase booth and a dressing/storage space, seamlessly blending form and function. The design process centered on thoughtful repurposing umbrella fabrics into dressing room curtains, a quote wall inspired by the publication’s typography, and newsstand elements that evoked the charm of the citywalks in England. Every bespoke finish, premium merchandising display, and layout choice was crafted to enhance engagement, creating a sophisticated and immersive brand experience that reinforced the Financial Times’ presence at the intersection of media and culture.
